Classes are 45 minutes long. Maximum enrollment is 5 students. Please note, some practicing at home will be required.

​Private Group Guitar Class​
​ 

Newton Chinese School is happy to present, for the first time, group guitar class for 3-5 students each. Each 45 minute class will be built around introducing basic musical and technical skills through group activities which include duets, group rhythmic/strumming games, and listening exercises designed to help with sight reading/music comprehension.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend so that they may also learn about ways to help students practice their new skills at home.

​The materials used in class will be the Hal Leonard Method Book for the Guitar (Level 1) and supplementary handouts supplied by the instructor.

Instructor's Bio

As an experienced guitar player in many styles, Ivan Korn has been teaching music for 15 years for both adult and young students.

Ivan holds an M.F.A from the Boston Conservatory.
